The Christian School

This is an old location of mine from a few years back. The Christian School was part of a duo of religious abandonments, accompanied by a church in the middle of some quiet, little neighborhood. Now, the church has been demolished and the school completely gutted. When we first started visiting this location, parts of it were gutted, but three years later it's a complete shell. Along for the trip were Cambria and ClimbingDoug. After a short time, we made our way back out unnoticed and left The Christian School, with plans never to bother returning.

Back To The Turn-Style

While in the city for other reasons the other night, ClimbingDoug and I decided to climb the turn-style again. It's peaceful up there, and I haven't even taken my time to play with all the photo options there yet. Here's a few I snapped real quick.

Hipshit Hotel

While joking around about gas money one afternoon, we decided to take an impromptu trip to a few of my old favorites. This hotel, closed in 2005, contains 150 rooms full of the trippiest wallpaper and ugliest shag carpets imaginable. Clahhhkie and I had both been in the past, but Cambria, ClimbingDoug, and ErinGH had never seen the beauty that is the Hipshit Hotel. The name comes from the end of this visit, when a cargo van literally packed full of hipshits pulled in behind the hotel and began unloading both still and video camera equipment. I believe there were 12 in total. I yelled for at them from a fourth floor window to move their van before they got all of us caught. Most of them entered while a few others pulled away to park the van where I'd advised them to. A few minutes later, and ClimbingDoug is perched up on a ledge in the basement, waiting for the hipshits to pass underneath him. A few screams and a fall later, and we're all standing on the dining room stage posing for a group shot. Two of them were behind my camera for the shot, also taking shots and filming video of the group photo in progress. After the group photo, we took off, leaving the building to the new group.
