It's been more than a year since the last time I visited CandyCorn Cancer Hospital. Along for this trip was ClimbingDoug and Cambria. Unfortunately, nothings changed inside, and I still found the place insanely boring. It's a modern hospital and has a severe lack of decay, only closing in 2005(If I remember correctly). I still had a good time, and it's always nice to see how much things can change in just a few years.
did you have trouble getting in? i have heard stories of alarms being everywher, which is a big problem since theres also a prison with a lot of cops nextdoor.
ReplyDeleteLast I knew, there were no alarms, but that could have changed. We'd been playing there for years before the day we got caught. There have been multiple groups caught there though. I cant give a yes or a no on this one. I dont want to give you bad advice and have you wind up in jail
ReplyDeleteWhere is this place located? Ive been searching for it for a while
ReplyDeleteIt's an old cancer hospital in MA, across the street from a prison. The rest shouldnt be too hard.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get in?
ReplyDeleteThe last story I read said that the sliding doors were rigged with alarms and that cops were there in a matter of minutes
I wont tell you how we got in, but I will tell you there ARE cameras and silent alarms in use. If caught on the property, you will be arrested. In all honesty, not worth the trouble.
ReplyDeleteI was there in 1972 when my cousin was being treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. I noticed the picture of the main entrance where the patient bags were all over the floor and the clock on the wall was missing the clock mechanism ,but the numbers are still there. I can remember sitting there when I was just 7 years old waiting at the main entrance because I was too young at the time.I can remember sitting there and taking looks up to see the clock and the nurses would come to me wearing their white paper hat with a stripe on it ,signifying what nursing school that they went to.I think that a lot of treatments for cancer were very experimental.A lot of their treatments for cancer depended upon possibly massive doses of radiation for killing off the bad cells and some good cells. When you give a human being massive doses of radiation to destroy cancer cells ,it depletes the entire immune system making your body unable to fight off any infection ,viruses,or disease. The symptoms of massive radiation exposure are terrible-blisters in the mouth etc.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you sharing the memory with us. It's nice to know a bit of personal history behind these spots.
DeleteWent to it a few months ago, 4 cops rolled up on us. Didnt get caught. Went again and had better luck, But there are cameras. Not an easy place
ReplyDeleteA lot of people have been arrested there. The cops took pretty good notice to the place back in 2011, installed cameras, and stopped just telling people to leave. Aside from that, it's a really rad spot.
